« … The exhibition “Quand Nous Nous Serons Tus…” therefore offers new works by the artist, painted on paper or drawn on canvas and corresponding to these two very deserved distinctions, after four hangings of his work on our walls for three years. Working singularly on notions such as landscape or the intimate, supporting the representation of essential passages in life, the poetic universe of Véronique Pastor presents itself again in the increasing mastery of a pictorial refinement dedicated to the individual dream as much as ‘to the collective vision of our distanced origins and our fundamental movements.
The post-expressionism of his creations is still affirmed with the elegance of a research without concession to certainty or affection towards convenience and thus always decided at the risk of the experience on various supports, as surprising in their adequacy to its intentions which are now addressed by a solid stylistic identity. “Quand Nous Nous Serons Tus…” is therefore an exhibition which allows both to restore the quintessence of a professional career in perpetual evolution in the constant affirmation of a measured humanist statement and to serenely discover the progress of an exploration sincere of the mysteries of it.
A quest for meaning accompanied by a concern for moral dignity as well as a call to existential humility, around twenty pieces emblematic of the artist’s personality coexist in discreet murmurs resurfaced by the magic of the line but sources of scholarly or spontaneous with the material, all crossed by an incontestable inner necessity between shadow and light: the atmosphere that the art of Véronique Pastor creates is found in each one conducive to this meditation responsible for the end year that we now need so much to consciously not despair.
